Hello Folks...
I had been thinking of leaving MSN Space aka Windows Live Space for many days.. .Becoz it is providing me hardly any customization facilities compared to 'Blogspot' or 'WordPress'.. But I was waiting for the so called Widnows Live Space Update by Microsoft.... But, when Widnows Live Space was launched, I was just shocked. and felt almost speechless.. Becoz, I found NO improvement in it... rather I believe, it has become slower... and the look and interface has become very odd I should say...Hence, finally I had to take the tough decision of leaving msn space forever... It was tough becoz it's the paltform where I started blogging almost 1.5 years ago... whatever, the news is : I have left blogging at MSN Space... and I have recently started my weblog @ Blogspot...And my new Weblog address is :
So, Good Bye Windows Live Space.... And for those visitors who have come to my space for update and for those who subscribed to my msn space previously... plz do visit my new weblog.... and make a new subscription...
Thanks for your cooperation... Take care... Ciao!

A Troubled User looking for PC Tech Support
Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend version 7.0 to Wife version 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications such as: Poker Night 10.3, Football 5.0, Hunting and Fishing 7.5, and Racing 3.6.
I can’t seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I’m thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0, but the uninstall doesn’t work on Wife 1.0. Please help me!
Thanks, A Troubled User.

Dear Troubled User,
This is a very common problem that men complain about. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0, thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM. You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings-Alimony-Child Support. I recommend that you keep Wife 1.0 and work on improving the situation. I suggest installing the background application “Yes Dear” to alleviate software augmentation.
The best course of action is to enter the command "C:\APOLOGIZE" because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway. Wife 1.0 is a great program, but it tends to be very high maintenance. Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean and Sweep 3.0, Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2.
However, be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program Nag Nag 9.5. Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0!
WARNING!!! Do not, under any circumstances, install Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3. This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system.
Best of luck, Tech Support.

Close Up1 Mania in Bangladesh Music Industry... ...
As you all know, last year Nolok was the winner of the first ever musical talent hunt show in Bangladesh - ‘Close Up1 – Tomakei Khujchhe Bangladesh’. And he was my personal favorite too… I wrote a blog entry on him, when he became the top of that competition by winning the hearts of more than tens of thousands of viewers who voted him to be the king – the first ever ‘Bangladeshi Idol’.
It’s true that folk songs bring out best in Nolok’s voice, but he showed his maturity in both moderns and oldies in the last year Closeup1 contest. In only last few months, Nolok became almost a myth. We just hope he will develop a great singer in him and enrich to main stream music in Bangla.
Recently, Nolok’s first solo album ‘She Je Konna Valo’ has been released. It’s a typical folk album as you may have expected from Nolok. This album has 10 melodious tracks! I have listened all of them and I’ve liked some… Specially I should mention the title track ‘She Je Konna Bhalo’ along with some other tracks : ‘Amar Mare Behest Tumi’, ‘Oi Duurer Gaye’, ‘Ontorer Vitor’… You can download all the tracks of this album from here.

Top eleven winners of Close Up 1 contest, 2005 recently performed in a music video, sponsored by the Close Up brand titled ‘Bijoy Keton Orey’. The song is very patriotic and highly emotional as well. Mr. Naushad Chowdhury, Brands & Development Director of Unilever Bangladesh, wrote the lyrics of this patriotic song. The youthful and vibrant music was composed by one and only Bappa Mazumder. The music video of this song is one of the best ever Bangla music videos I have ever seen specially because of its top class making and its beautiful outdoor settings. This music video was shot in different beautiful locations of Bangladesh like Cox’s Bazaar, Rangamati, Manikganj etc. These outdoor settings along with the top 11 Close Up1 winners’ energetic gestures portrayed not only the natural beauty of our country, but also a sense of power and strength in order to face the future. Download this awesome music video from here (right click & select save target as). You can get this song in mp3 format as well from my multiply music site.
Previously, our ‘Lalon Konna’ Beauty released her first solo album titled ‘Chorondashi’ featuring some soulful Lalon songs and some contemporary folk songs. The album contains 10 numbers including ‘Itoropona’, ‘Deho ekhon hashpataley’, ‘Shorboshadhon’, ‘Jomlo na pirit’, ‘Kobey shadhur choron dhuli’ and more. Beauty's style is undeniably 'folk' and the songs in the album utilize that skill. Her renditions of the Lalon songs, in particular, stand out. Get this album from here .

Mehrab and Rumi, two other Close Up 1 contestants, get their shot at entertaining the listeners through their duet album ‘Adda’. The album consists 10 tracks. Rumi and Mehrab rendered five songs each. The tracks ‘Cholon bil’, ‘Swapney bheshey jai’, ‘Duurtoma’, ‘Adda’ and more composed by Prince Mahmud and Asif Iqbal are quite easy on ear. The songs mostly belong to the style of contemporary pop and adhunik. Try out this album songs from here .
Recently, a mix album titled ‘Tarunner Joyogaan’ was released which includes some of the popular tracks sung by the top 11 contestants in the last year Close Up 1 competition : Nolok, Razib, Beauty, Soniya, Rinku, Mehrab, Rashed, Mahadi, Abid, Nawrin and Rumi along with the theme song of the contest ‘Jodi Lokhkho Thake Autut’. Get this whole album from here. You can also check out another album ‘Ora Tin Jon’ by the top three Nolok, Rajib & Beauty by following this link . If it’s not enough yet, just visit here.

Are You Intelligent ?? -- test it out ... ...
| Few days ago, I found an interesting website (www.Intelligence-Test.net) via email from one of my friendz.... The website was about the test of human intelligence... I went through some of the intelligence tests from that site and found so interesting that I wanna share them with you... You can try out those tests and find out whether you are intelligent enough or not ... Four parts of intelligence tests are out so far :
| After going through those tests you can only find out the number of correct answers you gave and most importantly your intelligence rank... You will find out whether you are 'average', 'somewhat intelligent', 'very intelligent' or 'genius' ! But, what about the solutions of those tests ? the solutions are not given in the main site... I have googled for the solutions and found that only the solutions of first three parts of intelligence test are available in the web... I think, the solution of the fourth part will also be released soon.... So here are the solutions I found out :
Update: Finally, I found out the fourth solution too.... and Nabila, the same friend who emailed about these intelligence tests, helped me out finding the solution of the fourth part too.... thanks to her! So, here is the fourth part solution :

Formerly known as MSN Messenger and now better known as Windows Live Messenger is surely the most popular instant messaging software all over the world. And it's my most favorite too. Recently, I came to know that the first version of MSN Messenger had been shipped on July 22, 1999. So, today (July 22, 2006) is the 7th Birthday of MSN Messenger aka Windows Live Messenger! And I am writing this blog entry to wish Windows Live Messenger and its team a very happy birthday....
Year 2002... this is the year when I had been introduced to this World Wide Web via my broadband internet connection. Within a few days, I came to know about this popular instant messaging software from one of my friends, Shohag. I was so amazed and thrilled when I had chatted first time through this MSN Messenger... I was so fascinated that I used to spend chatting for hours and hours! I can still remember those interesting days... Since then I've been using MSN Messenger almost every single day... And now it has become a necessity in my life. Thanks to Microsoft for making such a wonderful instant messaging software... and good wishes for Windows Live Messenger on its 7th birthday...

In the evolution process of MSN Messenger, here are some interesting points to note:
# MSN Messenger 1.0 was released on July 22, 1999. It included only basic features such as: plain text messaging and a simple contact list.
# The first Messenger I used was: MSN Messenger 4.5 which was released on October 23, 2001.
# Since then, I have used different versions of MSN Messenger: MSN Messenger 5.0, 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 7.0, 7.5 and now finally, I have been using Windows Live Messenger 8.0 which was officially released on June 19 this year. This is the latest version of MSN Messenger with new brand name 'Windows Live' and featuring 'Offline Conversation', 'File Sharing' and some exclusive updates!
# Recently, Microsoft and Yahoo! came to an instant messaging partnership... which is giving you the ability to add and chat with your Yahoo! friends using Windows Live Messenger.

Yesterday, I got an interesting email saying that today, that's July 20, 2006 is the World Jump Day (WJD) ! In that email, there was a link of the official site of the 'World Jump Day'. This site is asking everyone in the western hemisphere to take part in their jumping project at 11:39.13 GMT on July 20, 2006.
But what will happen if so many people jump at the same time ??? and why should they jump ???
The site is claiming: if 600 million people or more from the western hemisphere jump today at that particular time simultaneously, then it will cause the Earth shift out of its current orbit and into a new one and "this change in planetary position would very likely stop global warming, extend daytime hours and create a more homogenous climate". This effort has been labeled as World Jump Day and it is the theory of Hans Peter Niesward, from the Department of Gravitationsphysik at the ISA in Munich. Currently the official site of World Jump Day is claiming that more than 599 million people have been registered already in order to jump and according to World Stats, this would be almost 50% of all internet users all over the world. Surprising... huh ???
But there is only one problem with this jump theory... the problem is: Hans Peter Niesward doesn't exist. He is nothing but a character created by Torsten Lauschmann, a German born artist living in Scotland. And 'World Jump Day' is just an experiment in mob mentality by him... Lauschmann claims 'World Jump Day' started out as a simple thought between friends and quickly escalated into a global phenomenon. In 2005, Lauschmann encouraged scientists and bloggers from around the world to discuss on World Jump Day. You can know more about Torsten Lauschmann from his official site .

Zidane-Materazzi Incident in FIFA World Cup Final -- A Closer Look
I am not a hardcore football fan, and my favorite football team is neither Italy nor France, but I was drawn to watch the final of the FIFA World Cup 2006 between Italy and France on Sunday, July 9. Part of the magnetic pull was Zinedine Zidane, a great football player who exemplified the best in sportsmanship, civility and citizenship.
Zinedine Zidane rose to prominence in the football world despite the many obstacles in his way. He came to be loved by the French, in fact, to be considered quintessentially French. He proudly bore the hopes and dreams of his nation on his shoulders, delivered well when he won the World Cup for France in 1998. He is often spoken of in terms of endearment, lovingly called 'Zissou' by his French countrymen, respected by colleagues and opponents alike for his civility and restraint.
In this World Cup he brilliantly carried France all the way to the finals against Italy. This was to be his last match before retirement, and France was proudly holding its breath for a send-off that would have honoured his distinguished career as football great. Instead, the world was shocked when towards the end of the game, Zidane, apparently after trading some words with another Italian player, turned, took two steps forward and head-butted him in the chest, sending him falling backwards to the ground.
| I was shocked and alarmed. Shocked at his conduct in such a public space and alarmed at what the implications would be. I felt betrayed by this great man, who I never knew, yet whom I felt drawn to after reading about him. I immediately thought that he must have been provoked. Materazzi must have said something disgusting to make Zidane react in such a manner. At the same time, I felt that out of respect to his own self and his legacy, and to the millions of people who regard him in high esteem, he should have shown restraint, no matter how ugly the remarks were.
| The midfield star, who has now retired from football, appeared on French television on the last Wednesday to explain his actions. Here is a translation of what he told the TV channel Canal Plus about the Materazzi incident in the world cup final :
| Interviewer : You know the Italian players well because you played in Italy for five years. Did you have any problem with any of them beforehand?
| Zinedine Zidane : Not at all. You always have friction with certain players...that is the game, it has always been like that. But I never had any clashes with anyone.
| Interviewer : Nor Materazzi ?
| Zinedine Zidane : No, never. There was nothing beforehand and nothing in the match until he started pulling my jersey.
He grabbed my shirt and I told him to stop. I told him if he wanted I'd swap it with him at the end of the match.
That is when he said some very hard words, which were harder than gestures. He repeated them several times. It all happened very quickly and he spoke about things which hurt me deep down.
| Interviewer : Everyone wants to know exactly what he said...
| Zinedine Zidane : They were very serious things, very personal things.
| Interviewer : About your mother and your sister?
| Zinedine Zidane : Yes. They were very hard words. You hear them once and you try to move away...
But then you hear them twice, and then a third time... I am a man and some words are harder to hear than actions. I would rather have taken a blow to the face than hear that.
| Interviewer : He said these things about your mother and sister two or three times ?
| Zinedine Zidane : Yes. I reacted and of course it is not a gesture you should do. I must say that strongly.
It was seen by two or three billion people watching on television and millions and millions of children.
It was an inexcusable gesture and to them, and the people in education whose job it is to show children what they should and shouldn't do, I want to apologise.
| Interviewer : You apologise to them but do you really regret having done it ?
| Zinedine Zidane : I can't regret it because if I do it would be like admitting that he was right to say all that. And above all, it was not right.
We always talk about the reaction, and inevitably it must be punished. But if there is no provocation, there is no reaction.
First of all you have to say there is provocation, and the guilty one is the one who does the provoking. The response is to always punish the reaction, but if I react, something has happened.
Do you imagine that in a World Cup final like that, with just 10 minutes to go to the end of my career, I am going to do something like that because it gives me pleasure?
| Interviewer : No of course not. But at the moment you exploded...
| Zinedine Zidane : There was provocation, and it was very serious, that is all. My action was inexcusable but you have to punish the real culprit, and the real culprit is the one who provoked it. Voila.
| Different people may have different opinions about this Zidane-Materazzi incident... but my personal opinion is : I have trusted every single word Zidane said in this interview. FIFA has recently started investigating the incident with the help of some world famous lip-readers... and as far as I know, most lip-readers are saying the same thing as Zidane said. The interesting thing is : I haven't been shocked at all at the sick provocation Materazzi did to Zidane because of his famous (or ugly?) footballing records in Italian League, I heard that Materazzi is well known | |
