'Fort Minor'

      Mike Shinoda is an American musician. He is best known for being the rhythm guitarist, keyboardist and also the co-producer for the metal/rap-core band Linkin Park.

       In late 2004, rumors were abound that Shinoda was going to release a solo record. Its release was confirmed in early 2005 as Shinoda started recording for a hip hop side project  Fort Minor accompanied by a group of his close friends. Fort Minor is best known for the singles 'Where'd You Go' and 'Remember the Name' from its debut album 'The Rising Tied' which was released on November,2005.

      "  It's called 'Fort Minor', instead of my name because there are a bunch of other people involved in the project. But I only wanted to work with family and friends, people that I feel are really close to me and we see eye-to-eye. Besides that, 'Fort' has a militant meaning and 'Minor' in music is a smaller, darker, sadder note, so the name is a reflection of the music." , said Mike Shinoda about his new side project Fort Minor.

      Among those tracks, Where'd You Go is simply the best. This track has become so popular all over the world that it has been one of the leading tracks in US and UK music top charts nowadays. I should also mention that I am highly impressed watching the music video of this track.
